AHRC Scholarships
The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) supports world-class
research that furthers our understanding of human culture and
creativity. The University of Sheffield has been awarded substantial
AHRC funding for postgraduate research scholarships across the Arts
& Humanities and Social Sciences.
The University of Sheffield offers three types of AHRC award:
- Doctoral Awards – funding for full or part-time study leading to
a doctoral degree (PhD). For 2013-14, we are inviting applications in
the following subject areas: Librarianship, Archives, Record Management
& Information Science;
Asian Language & Culture;
all subject areas in the Faculty of Arts & Humanities.
- Research Preparation Masters (RPM) Awards – funding for Masters
courses where the focus is on advanced study and research training that
is explicitly intended to provide a foundation for further research at
doctoral level. For 2013-14, we are inviting RPM applications for
subjects in the Faculty of Arts & Humanities.
- Professional Preparation Masters (PPM) Awards – funding for
Masters courses where the focus is on the development of high-level
skills and competences as a preparation for professional practice in a
field relevant to the content of the course. For 2013-14, these are
available in:
Archaeology;
Design;
Interpreting & Translation;
Journalism & Publishing;
Librarianship, Archives, Record Management & Information Science.
